Go-Lab was successfully introduced during the one-day event “From quarks to the universe through the ‘Big Ideas of Science” introducing interdisciplinary activities for the science classroom through a federation of online labs’ in Estoril, Portugal, September 11^th, 2014. The event took place in scope of the Astronomy Education Allice Meeting that was hosted by the European Planetary Science Congress and Global Hands-On Universe in Cascais, Portugal between September 8^th and 12^th, 2014.

Eleftheria Tsourlidaki (Ellinogermaniki Agogi) and Rosa Doran (NUCLIO) organized the workshop aiming at introducing the “Big Ideas of Science” concept to the participants. Their goal was to demonstrate the use of online labs within different science subjects in everyday teaching and show how it can help students to acquire a better understanding in different science phenomena and laws.

Using brainstorming techniques and different provided scenarios, the teachers became familiar with the possibilities of using online labs enhancing their everyday teaching and increasing the students’ engagement in science related activities.
