The FORGE project (Forging Online Education through FIRE) unites the world of FIRE (Future Internet Research and Experimentation) and eLearning specifying development methodologies and best practices to learners. FORGE provides access to high performance facilities, which are considered as reusable learning solutions for multiple learning contexts, to create and execute scientific experiments.
The Go-Lab project collaborates with the FORGE project having established a Special Interest Group (SIG): Remote Labs and Online Experiments within the European Association of Technology Enhanced Learning (EATEL). The primary aims of the SIG are to promote the use of remote labs and online experimentation as well as to offer the technologies, which help stakeholders building experimental infrastructures and using them across different domains. Additionally, FORGE and Go-Lab will focus on the mutual integration of technologies in the future. This means, the Go-Lab Repository will offer FORGE widgets and FORGE users will be able to access Go-Lab virtual and remote labs via FORGEStore and FORGEBox.
